100 Bits of Happiness 59/100

Dec 21, 2012 11:50

Yesterday I received a very surprise package from my e-mail friend Christine. We 'met' when she commissioned a cross-stitch pattern from me. We chatted back and forth a bit and both sort of shyly asked if the other wanted to exchange longer e-mails.

For seven months we've exchanged e-mails almost every single day. In the early days of sharing some of our history with each other I felt just the way I did when I met my friend Ann in 3rd grade, that instant connection of having so much in common and so many views in common.

So yesterday I got a package and she'd made me an afghan! It was so affecting. I've never had a friend make me something like that before, something so time consuming. I haven't really had that within my own family either, for that matter. The quilt that my mom made was not made for me, she just randomly made it and I bugged her into giving it to me since my siblings all had quilts that were made just for them as babies and I didn't.
