This is an article about the man who owns a massive used china/crystal/silver store. The showroom and huge warehouse are in North Carolina (I've been and it's pretty amazing to just look around).
Replacements is a campaigner for marriage equality, and before North Carolina's vote to ban gay marriage they put a lot of time, money, and advertising into the world to oppose that legislation, despite the fact that it would hurt the business. He tried to recruit other businesses, but the few times his calls weren't ignored they would simply say they could go out on a limb, they couldn't lose business.
It's a pretty great story, though also a sad one.
