Yesterday was a really crazy day. I stayed at Jen & Luke's the night before after watching the season premiere of Nip/Tuck. Chris Donnelly come over in the morning and we went to Chinatown for Dim Sum, which was super tasty. We went back to their place so Luke, Chris, and I could play some Magic while Jen packed up and left for San Diego.
Jen left, we played. Luke was a little bitch and went right after me, I couldn't get anything off, and had to leave for my Starbucks interview for I could even finish a second game. I was going to leav a lot earlier to shower and shave, but I only had time to rush home and change to make it on time, Luke and Chris kept going "You don't need to shave, you don't need to shower."
I got to the interview and the manager wasn't even there, and they couldn't find my application. Turns out they were in the middle of a hiring fair, so they had me fill out another aplication, and the interview I had with the assisstant manager and all my recommendations ended up being pointless as I became just some other person at a hiring fair. When I finally interviewed with the manager, at the end of the interveiw, she told me that she's already hired 5 people and she can't train anymore at once. In two weeks, f I'm still interested, I can call her. Total bollocks.
I told Luke, he's gonna talk to his manager and see if he can get me into his store, and then he'd get to train me, which is what he's wanted all along. In the meantime, I'm still unemployed. Jen says I should hold out for her store, which I might have a choice in, but if I can start sooner at Luke's, I'm gonna do it.
So I got home close to 5, changed into more comfortable clothes and plopped down to watch some more LOST season 2 extras, when suddely Jenny called me. She wanted me to come in to audition for a non-speaking role on Zoey 101, the catch is I had to be at the casting office in 10 minutes. So I did it. Turns out the casting office was at this studio across the street from the veterinarian we talk our animals. I found the office, signed in, met the casting director and the girl I was auditioning with, named Jen. The casting director tells us whats going on: "Jen, you're the pretty popular girl at school and you've got a cup of something in your hand. Michael is the awkward boy and while talking with Jen you knock the cup out of her hand and it spills all over her."
So we improved that little bit, and then it was over. I was home half an hour after I left. Jenny called me later that night to tell me that I made it to the DVD they sent to the producer, so we'll see what happens. After that I auditioned for the one act plays at Valley, and I got to read with Tim, which was pretty cool considering its been more than four years since we've acted together. With us reconnecting and all I hope if I get cast in one of these shows at Valley that we get to do something together. I think that would make it more worth it than anything.
Anyway, today I kinda got lost trying to find the Burbank Empire Center, because I was trying to take a different way to get there. But I got the second season of Arrested Development, as well as a birthday present for Alexi, a month late. Tonight I saw Fences with my Mom at the Pasadena Playhouse. Lawrence Fishburne, Angela Bassett, and Orlando Jones were in it, and it was really great. Angela Bassett was good, Lawrence Fishburne was amazing, but you'd not believe how amazing Orlando Jones was. He had me tearing up a little at the very end. I recommend people try to get tickets if you can, it's great.
I find out about Comedy Of Errors and the one acts tomorrow, and hopefully Zoey 101 soon. And even better, hopefully I get some word from Luke about Starbucks soon.
