Things

Since returning from Berlin things have gotten extremely hectic. Berlin was awesome, but those stories are best told in person.

Anyway, on top of Dead Man Walking rehearsals, the Revue this Friday, needing to get started on my senior project, and classes getting overwhelming, I have one more thing on my mind at all times. I've been telling people about this individually, but I know lots of people read my journal that I don't talk to regularly, although I should. But here it is...

My Mom has ovarian cancer. I don't know how much of this story she has known for how long, but I just got what I think is all the information a couple days ago. My Mom likes to keep things from me or not tell me all of something. She said her doctor found some cysts on her ovaries, so she went in to have a histerectomy the monday while I was in Berlin. I didn't talk to her until the night we got back, so I was thinking about it a lot the whole time in Berlin. Anyway, turns out there was a grapefruit sized tumor, and they removed most of it, but there are still flecks left as well as another small tumor. She has to go through six months of chemotherapy.

I'm going home over the Easter three day weekend, and taking some extra days before then so I can spend some time with her. I'd come home right now, but I can't. I wish I could, but I really can't. She's optimistic, making jokes when I've been talking to her. Oma said she was laughing while they were watching TV the day after the surgery. So she's doing fine, I'm just freaking out over it, among other things.

So that's it.
