How do I cut my Literacy biography to a page?

My first two assignments for the semester are due on Monday. Which is fine mostly they are both done and i'm not even stressed about them. The problem with the first one is it's a literacy autobiography that has to be done in a page and a half. Some of my classmates were complaining it had to be the long but I forgot this and my draft is 4 pages. So now i'm cutting, a lot. Sadly it looks like all the funny asides (well I think they're funny asides) are all going. I get along really well with the lecturer and when we were workshopping our papers yesterday with our classmates there came to be some disagreements on mine. A couple of people were telling me to cut the funny stuff, another said I had to keep it... when the lecturer overheard this she asked me to keep some of it. I'm guessing that means she wants to be entertained in the middle of the 30 papers she's grading. Still cutting down 25 years of reading, influences on my literacy and what I think i'll be like as an English teacher is hellish. I may end up posting the work in progress and the finished work when i'm done.

The good news is one of the problem children from the class dropped out of the Lit stream yesterday. Don't get me wrong she's a great kid and will probably make a decent teacher but she just didn't get Lit at all. Which i understand to a point but she hates books and reading so why she chose this I don't know. Apparently she wanted to do PE but we have no PE option.
