Who was a shining beacon of intelligence yesterday?
I was a shining beacon!!1!
So, I knew the weather was supposed to be getting colder. I knew snow was predicted for this weekend. (I bet you can see where this is going.) What I didn't know/realize/pay any heed to was that snow was also predicted for Thursday. Like as in four inches.
Wednesday was a beautiful 50 degrees and sunny. We hadn't seen snow in town since...mid November I think, and in my warm weather bliss, I was struck with inspiration for an outfit that consisted of a sweater, knee length skirt, tights, and ballet flats - not the tall boots that are my custom. For some reason, this idea lodged in my brain and wouldn't go away. I was going to wear this outfit come hell or high water. Or, you know, snow.
The flakes started coming down the moment I got to work. When I got there I saw we had a senior group scheduled to visit the museum in the afternoon, so guess who got to shovel... It's not normally part of my job to shovel, but the girl who does was out, and it needed to be done. So I was out there in my skirt, in the falling, blowing snow, wearing the worst footwear for the job, trying to clear the walk. Oh yeah. And when I got back inside and glanced in the mirror I was reminded that I had been meaning to buy mascara that was waterproof and still hadn't done it. I was pretty~
Moral of this story: Snow boots are good and so is paying attention to the weather report. I have learned my lesson.
Aaaaany way, enough of that. I hope everyone has a wonderful new year! Take care and be safe <3
