Twilight
I'm going to post a fairly unusual opinion here, and claim that Twilight the Movie is better than Twilight the book. Why? Because today I made my first attempt at reading the book, and while I can't say it's the worst thing ever, the thing kind of reads like a self-insert fanfiction. At least the movie feels like it had a semi-competent director and some of the corniest lines are omitted from the dialogue. Plus there is no description in the movie, which makes it seem the work of a much more mature mind. I could go on why it was so hard from me to try to read the book (I haven't finished it yet), but there has already been too much Twilight analyzing in the net. This is just my small, unimportant contribution to the debate.
ETA: This week I saw a new copy of Wuthering Heights in the bookstore. The cover had been made to look a little like the Twilight books and it had a big sticker "Edward and Bella's favorite book". I weep for humanity.
