I love being busy. I hate being busy with packing and moving, two of my least favorite activities. Yesterday I purged almost a third of my possessions in a garage sale, stripping my book collection to its barest amount (only two boxes now!) I still have more of the larger items than I would want (seriously need to get rid of this gigantic TV somehow!) but am feeling optimistic in the powers of craigslist.

Life without Spock is much better than I had anticipated. I think I have been mourning for him ever since I made the final decision about finding him a new home, so I have pretty well processed things. Also, the new family and house is about as perfect for him as I could ever imagine, so I am extremely relieved that he will be loved, entertained, and tolerated. Now I just feel a vague sense of emptiness, and a phantom "I need to go feed spock now" alarm clock thought, which soon rights itself. Overall, I am quite happy with it.

Now to pack, bake some "thank you" madeleines for the people at Spock's old daycare, and plan a trip somewhere!
