Julie Part II

Nov 02, 2006 21:53

Julie is a girl who paces the halls at night. She walks by swinging body with her legs
side to side, so some people say she walks like a guy and some people say she has a limp.
Most people including myself thought she was gay until she became the first girl in our
small hallway to sexile her roomate. She is square-shaped and from Thailand and wears
the same few shirts in rotation.

Back to her walking habits: she often walks down the hallway in the evenings and walks
into our room, for our door is open, inviting - but then she stands there. After a few
seconds she will say in her low voice, "Hey."

This particular night I am alone studying. She comes and stands right next to me. My
desk is in the corner and she has blocked me in. "Why didn't you come to dinner with us?"

"I - uh - I was at the library - I just saw you guys - I had gone to dinner by myself -"

"WHY DIDN'T YOU COME TO DINNER WITH US?"

"They had rice dream ice cream at Wilder and I wanted that!"

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE AVOIDING ME."

Her hands reach out and wrap around my neck. I bat them away.

"Julie! I had gone to dinner before I saw you guys and passed you on my way in"

"I thought you didn't want to see me." She reaches her hands out to my neck and I take
them off, hold them away and look her in the eyes. "That is VERY threatening, Julie.
Don't do it."

She backs off immediately, stepping back and dropping her hands to her sides. "Oh.
Sorry."

"Yeah, it's okay."

She sort of stands there and then leaves.

An hour later she's back, standing in the center of our room as usual.

"Hi Julie."

Silence.

"Do you want to say anything?"

Pause. "No."

Exeut.

As Eliza said, "Maybe that's her way of apologizing."
