(no subject)
we were supposed to leave yesterday, but in fact we are going today. we are leaving to go camping in the alps. i am so excited. we're taking mountain bikes, a tent, warm sleeping bags, ohhhhhhh sweet jesus i need to be out in nature again. this will be wonderful. so no internet access or cell phone access anymore, until i get home next saturday. i am thinking about my 11 weeks in france, and of all the incredible things i've experienced my favorite thing was taking the train to nice and wandering around without a map, without a hotel reservation, without any clue, without anyone. it was so liberating, so thrilling, and so unforgettable. i am really proud of myself for making it all alone, speaking only my third language, with my terrible sense of direction and everything. for making friends on the 12 minute train ride, every time. i can't even describe how elated i feel, how much i have enjoyed this aspect of my trip (traveling alone). windsurfing was excellent as well ;-) and my french has soared to newfound heights. i can understand everything now, its crazy.
