It was a mobile home, planted directly behind two gigantic mansions near the beach. We could see a corner of surf if we strained our eyes, and if it wasn't raining too hard.
The lawn was mostly made of moss... It was almost a foot thick, and squelchy if you walked on it.
We nearly killed a bunny rabbit driving in.
Twice.
Overall, the weekend could have been better; It would have helped to have not been sick, and the whole thing would have played out better without the Saskatchewan man-hating rent-a-cop beach pig giving us a $153 ticket... And we hardly spent any time at all on the beach not driving. My throat still hurts.
On the positive side, it was the first time I've been to the beach in a little over 10 years. Seeing the ocean was a mind-blowing event for me. The unfathomable Largeness made me feel so small... It was like it just went on forever, regardless of what mankind does to try to change it. It is beyond persuasion.
Some people get that feeling from staring into the reaches of deepest space; I get it from being at the beach. It really doesn't take much to blow my mind.
