The Third Plate
- I Want My Dinner -
Thursday night.

An ambulance went along the street towards a small village in south of Osaka. It carried a corpse, which happened to be a victim of a murderer. The ambulance was driven by Nao, who just took normal speed along the road as the victim’s brother said that they were not in hurry. Along the way, Shou was in his emotional state because his deary little brother had kicked a bucket.

“Actually, Sir, Tora becomes this famous because of murder cases,” Nao said, nodding his head, trying to keep polite to Shou. “He’s 21st Century’s most wanted.”

“But why it had to be my brother?!” Shou moarned, near yelling. “Why he chose Hiropon of all the people? Why ain’t he knowing his victim was a boy who just came from a little village in Osaka to make a better life in town?! Why?!”

“C-calm down, Sir, Tora had already rested, right?”

“What?” Shou averted his gaze towards Nao. He goggled his eyes, they looked like going to explode in any minute. “Calm down you said??! MY LITTLE BROTHER DIED! HE DIED, FOR FUCK’S SAKE!!”

“I-I’m sorry, Sir,” Nao was frightened. He tried his best to pay attention fully on the road. Having conversation with Shou was worst than riding a corpse for three hours.”

“If I met Tora, I’d fold him limb by limb into origami. Then I’d squeeze him, like this,” Shou clenched his fist, “I’d kick his stomach hard untill he shits all of his organs out of his ass!!”

Nao said nothing and just listening to Shou’s random curses. He felt sick with this guy he stamped as a psychopat and he wanted to throw up. But he tried to control himself, as Osaka was near already, and they would arrive at this guy’s place soon.

“Motherfucker.” Another curse Shou let out. “He made me so angry.. and hungry! Hey, Mr. Driver, can we stop at that stall?”

“I’m not your driver.” Nao whispered to himself. Unfortunately, that whisper was quite clear that Shou could still hear it.

“What did you say?”

“Nah, nothing, Sir.” The black-haired ambulance driver said, pretending innocent, as he parked his ambulance in front of a stall on the edge of an empty street.

They walked in and sat on the corner. At that time it was only the two of them who’s visiting the stall, nobody’s there already, except a waiter who approached them with a menu book in his hand. “The menu, Sir,” He gave it to Nao.

“Aa,” Nao gazed at the waiter closely. His eyes were brightened, as he watched the beautiful waiter refracting pika-pika’s sparkles and falling rosses around this brunette, tall, slender guy. His face was like any guys in boys-love manga or something alike. Nao wasn’t aware about his state but Shou and the waiter were.

“Hey, Sir, I’m waiting your order. Could you please just order anything?” The waiter said, calmly.

“Could I order you as-ITTE!!” Nao almost screamed, as he felt Shou’s foot stepping on his. “Ah! Oh! Eh... ano...”

“We don’t have any ‘ano’ here. You wanna order something or not? It’s midnight and I need to go home soon because I have life.” The waiter said, coldly this time.

“I will just order what he order, ne,” Nao answered weakly, his finger pointed to Shou.

Shou glanced at him coldly, but this ambulance driver’s attention was still on that waiter. After he finished ordering his late dinner, he went back to the bar, leaving Shou and Nao alone on their table. But Nao, he couldn’t take his eyes off of Saga, the name of that flawless, God-so-sexy waiter.

“Aah, what’s his name? His e-mail? His ...bra?” Nao mumbled to himself.

“God, Saga is a guy.” Shou commented.

“So? I don’t actually care.” Still, Nao didn’t pay attention to Shou, until he realized something. “W-wait, Sir, how do you know his name?”

“It’s written on his ID card,” Shou rolled his eyes. “Are you blinded or what?”

“Maybe...” What made Shou frightened this time, was that Nao smiled to himself. “What a beautiful name. Saga...”

Again, Shou rolled his eyes. Good, this ambulance driver was certainly a gay.

After about more than half an hour, Shou called Saga to pay the bill. To tell truth, Shou didn’t want to waste his time on this stall but Nao was too busy adoring Saga from distance and even he had tried to distract him, nothing could.

“Two glasses of hot tea, three plates of kare,” Saga repeated the order.

“What? I just ordered two plates of kare,” Shou complained.

“Two? But here written three plates, Sir, you must be mistaken.”

“No, you are mistaken, there’s just two of us, Nao-san and I, so how come it be three?” Shou furrowed his eyebrows.

“No, Sir, there’s three plates on your table so it’s impossible that I’m mistaken. There’s other person who ordered kare too. I’m sure you went here with him. Look, that’s the third plate.” Saga pointed to an empty plate on Shou’s right. Not at all empty, as it looked like someone just ate from it.

Quickly, Shou averted his gaze to Nao who sat on his left side.

“Did you order this?” He interogated him.

“No, Sir!” Nao shook his head. “I’m here and the plate’s there, I’m not as tall as you, my hands can’t reach that far.”

Shou silenced.

“Sir?” Saga asked, again, making sure.

Shou scratched the back of his head as he was at loss, didn’t know what to say. Who’s ate from this third plate? There was no other consumer exept Nao and him so it would be impossible. But the plate was...

Wait. Again, Shou buldged his eyes out. This time it looked like going to fall out of its sockets.

“The third person. What he looked like?” Shou asked, surprising Saga.

“Etto, he’s kinda short.”

“Then?”

“He wore blue shirt, Sir. I guess.”

Now Nao surprisedly opened his mouth wide. His lower jaw seemed like it’s going to break off of its place.

“B-blue, you said?” Nao stuttered. He and Shou then looked at each others, as a frightful feeling came to them.

They both got up madly, as Shou dragged Saga along with them, they dashed out of the stall towards Nao’s ambulance. Nao opened the back door, he pulled the unfolded bed and opened the zip of a black shroud and showed Shou’s brother’s dead body to Saga.

Saga gasped, open-mouthed. He quickly closed his mouth with his palms as he was in a great shock.

“Was it him?” Shou asked, pointed his hand to his little brother who lied peacefully there.

“Yes.. no, no! I mean-” Saga stepped backwards. “NO WAY!! This-it’s THIS GUY! I swear it’s him who ordered the third plate!!”

“But Saga-kun, he’s... dead.” Nao tried to explain.

“W-WHAT??!” Saga yelled at Nao, couldn’t believe what he just heard from the ambulance driver.

There’s a voice, which heard all of a sudden.

“Hey, what dead?” It said, sounded like a wheeze.

The three of them quickly averted their gazes to the corpse. Who sat up, and staring at them curiously. His face was pale like moon, half of his body was bloody, injured badly. “Aniki!” Hiroto excitedly called Shou.

And then a silence, before three sounds of screams were let out loud.
