I am sick of this shit.
Do you remember, way back when, back in the day, when LJ used to be a thing? When you checked it as much as you now check facebook and you posted as often as you emailed?
What happened to us? We had such a good thing going and now it's fallen apart... And I could say it's not you, it's me. But that's a lie. It's totally you. You never post anymore. You facebook and you twit and maybe pick your nose, I don't know, but whatever you're doing over there, all of this is totally your fault.
But here's the thing. I still love you. I love you madly. I think back about our times of Marry/Fuck/Kill, our comments, our posting pictures and jokes and the events of our day, and a warm glow comes over me. You made me so happy. You can still make me happy. Don't you miss those times?
LJ is like an old decrepit victorian house limping along on its last legs and slated for demolition. But really all it needs is some TLC. And honestly, as much as you may think we've evolved past this into new technologies, the truth is we need LJ too. Facebook, while decent for pictures, is utter shit for really staying in touch with your friends and letting them into your lives. Everyone and their mother (and my mother) is on there so everything that gets posted is generic slap. It's wall crap and status updates and lame links you found on the interwebs. That's no way to maintain a relationship.
And we need some maintaining. You all live all over the world! And you're busy! And I miss you! Don't you miss me? And each other? Obviously LJ is not the only tool for staying close friends, but I think it's one of the best ones we have given that we are wordy creative people in different time zones with limited ability for travel and phone.
So here is the deal. I am starting a revival. An LJ revival. And I want you to join me. Let's put the Live back in Live Journal! Let's reclaim our reason for getting online! Let's talk about what we had for breakfast and that weird thing we saw the other day and what we should do with our lives! Let's Marry/Fuck/Kill! Let's share random pictures! Let's comment like we've never commented before!!! YES!! YES!! DO YOU FEEL IT?!! LET'S FUCKING DO THIS THING!!!
I hereby declare that I will post every other day (not including weekends). Will you post too?
