Monday Night...Swimming?

Aug 11, 2008 23:27

  • Damn, Michael Phelps is ridiculous.  It's almost hard to believe that no one in the world has ever swam as fast, and that everyone else in the pool are still among the TOP 8 IN THE WORLD.  He's up to 3 golds.  Wow.
  • First thesis interview today with Principal Sparano - went well, save for some minor technical difficulties with Mr. I-Won't-Produce-Sound-Oh-Wait-You-Want-To-Record-Why-Sure laptop microphone.  It got me geared up for those intense 50 minute note-taking sessions also known as "college lectures".
  • In other laptop news, a battery came today for it, which means this hunk of metal will have to last through May.
  • Really didn't do much else today, and it felt good.  Wandered around the mall for a while to conserve gas (yes, it makes sense).  Enjoyed some archery, weightlifting, and team handball on cable.  (Penn State had better add MSNBC to their cable system this year; not just for the Olympics and Keith.  (OK, maybe just for the Olympics and Keith.))
  • Cut my losses with the 200+ entries from DailyKos that were waiting for me from the last week; nothing really major happened, what did happen that was major I probably heard about, and otherwise there was just continued GOP skullduggery.  Also known as "the last seven and a half years."  Therefore, the current stats from my 74 RSS feeds are 29 unread (concentrated in 2 feeds) and 94 pinned for (eventual) reading.
  • I'm attempting to run down my iPod nano's battery to reset its power indicator; it hadn't been coming up as full recently.  It's already been going strong for 3 hours nonstop, and even after some previous usage, still shows about half full.  I'd call that decent enough, but I'll still be letting it run down overnight.

  • The most recent string of songs have been most excellent, leading to a pretty sharp reversal in mood from last night at this time.
