reasons i love berkeley...
while gardening i have found that i run into the most interesting people and see the greatest things. the three reasons i love berkeley today:
1) the rasta dad walking his baby down the street with a small boom box in the stroller playing reggae as they walk.
2) a little girl riding her bike with her mom and asking the question: "mommy, how did issac get dark skin?". mom explaining the difference in skin color, but how it doesn't mean anything about who the person is, just that they're all different.
3) my ongoing love affair with the senior citizen pedal delievery guy. i see him almost every time i'm in the garden and he always stops to chat and asks about what i'm planting. he's super sweet and picks up compost every few days from our neighbors. he was wearing a shirt today that said "Senior Power! start a revolution!" i love that guy. he's like a skinny hippie santa claus. i need to find out his name.
