soooo...i will admit it...i used to walk into target LOOKING for things to buy, its insane when i think about all the useless crap i would spend money on. today i left the mountain to do some shopping for the store. target was my first stop after a stop at a whole-in-the-wall crystal shop off the side of the 101. after about 10 minutes in target my head was pounding and my ears were ringing and there was this damn woman on a cell phone standing in front of my cart that i said "excuse me" to 4 times before she realized she was standing in the middle of the aisle and i couldn't get through. i wasn't even angry, i was just exhausted. its crazy the mindless stuff they sell...that and the fact it comes in 20 different colors, shapes, sizes and smells. its enough to make your head spin (or at least mine).
i felt much better at the arcata co-op, wandering the bulk aisles, amazed at the fact i didn't have to buy any of it anymore and that all my meals were simply prepared for me. i feel so blessed. though i did get a container of olives. i've been craving olives, but these just didn't quite do it for me. next time i'm in the city i'm going to get sun-dried tomato stuffed olives...mmm...
i'm happy to be back on the mountain. it feels stable and grounding and i certainly don't miss flourscent lighting.
