MAX SINGS SOLO AT GAY GAMES :)

So Chicago is amazing. It's was and still remains my favorite city that I've had the pleasure of visiting. We've sung approximately all day every day since we've been here, but it hasn't been too terrible. We've had a considerable amount of free time during which I've shopped, dined, bought a few books, and napped :).

There is, however, something much more exciting than all of that. The Gay Games VII Mixed Chorus (that's what we're called) is performing three times during the games. We've already had our performance at the opening ceremonies, there's a midweek concert tomorrow, and there's another performance that Diverse Harmony won't be around for at the closing ceremonies. I auditioned for a solo at the midweek concert and got a relatively small one, but a solo none the less. We're performing at an outdoor concert hall in Millenium Park in downtown chicago. I can't remember what the pavillion is called, but it's good. It's where the Chicago Symphony does their outdoor concerts. I've been told that the performance going to be on TV, but have no idea what channel. I'll let y'all know if I find out, but until then, I'm HELLA excited.

I'm surprised I haven't flipped out yet. I actually welled up just a little when the four soloists for the song ("Why we Sing" by Greg Gilpin) were meeting with the conductor. I might cry a lot at the concert. For me, this is a huge deal. There is room for 11,000 audience members in the pavillion. whoa...

I'm just rambling at this point, which a waste of your time and probably mine as well, so I'll let y'all go. :)

I'm sure I'll be back in a couple of days to let y'all know how it went. :)
