You know, the year was getting off to a pretty good start. I bought my first new clothes in over a year, the car was getting fixed, it looked like a house was on the horizon, Paris was around the corner...well, I guess that was just too much of my good mojo allotment for the year.
The car came back from the shop with none of the issues fixed. In fact, it has brand new issues. So hooray, we just lost $700 to repairs and the car is worse off than it was before. M is taking it back to the shop to talk to them about it, but the idea of spending more money on this car is freaking us both out because we're starting to have to dip into house savings to pay for it, which means our down payment money is shrinking. He's already sacrificing new shoes and a new coat, and now it looks like Paris might be off the table because we need the money for the house and car. We may even have to wait to buy the house for a few more months until we can build our savings back up. It's horrifying and depressing.
We need to seriously look for a second car, too, because no matter how problematic this one is, we still have to get to school and work. We can't rely on other people for rides like we have been, it's not feasible with him going to school and me going to work, and everyone we know having to do the same, so we can't expect someone to take us both and pick us both back up every day. So, more money down the drain.
It just feels like I can't get a break.
