If anyone's interested in a cool little time travel movie that's very Shaun of the Deadish (as in: it's a comedy but it also takes itself seriously), then I say go check out Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel. I'm not sure how easy it is to get ahold of, especially outside of the UK, but if you get the chance to watch it, I give it a hearty recommendation.
It's a somewhat low budget HBO/BBC joint project, although I think the production values were still pretty darn good. The plot, characters, and overall writing are really what make it so great though. It was just damned good fun, and the ending left me wishing it was a weekly series so I could continue to watch these wacky adventures.
Apparently some of the reviews claimed the plot was too complicated, but if you're reading this you are probably a veteran sci-fi nerd and will have little trouble following it. It's not like it's Primer, which incidentally is another low budget (VERY low budget) time travel movie you should see if you haven't seen it already. Now that movie will probably confuse you if you aren't willing to pay strict attention, but it was also really good. FAQ About Time Travel is much more accessible and of course a lot more humorous.
The reason I recommend it is because apparently most people have never heard of it, and the few reviews I did see were surprisingly bland for what I thought was a really clever, funny, and interesting movie. So give it a chance, I'm sure it'll pop up on Netflix or HBO one of these days.
Also: if you call yourself a nerd or a geek and you've never seen Primer, then you are living in a dream world, and must turn in your internet credentials immediately.
