Um...okay.
There is a Star Trek fic based on the new (and incredible) movie that several people have recced so far.
This baffles me for several reasons. I have attempted to read it and cannot fathom why anyone would think it's at all faithful to the movie, or even all that funny. I'm trying not to point out the story or the author by name because that's really just not fair since nobody asked my opinion, but I can tell you that this fic breaks at least two of the things I've said are Things Fanfic Must Stop Doing.
Think dialogue tags and think out-of-character swearing.
Part of me would like to go into an in-depth review of why I would classify this story as mediocre at best, but I feel like I'd be a jerk for doing so, so I'm just going to stop here. I just couldn't keep my mouth shut completely, because I am truly baffled by the love this story is getting.
