It is twice cheaper to ship gas across the Atlantic than through the Nord Stream pipeline
Gazprom reported the transportation cost of gas from Russia to Germany by the Nord Stream pipeline at $0.87/MMBtu.
According to Platts, it costs twice less to ship gas from Sabine Pass to Europe by LNG tanker. Shipping rates are really low now.
