Help raise awareness on depression....
So many of you know that for the past year I have been battling with bad depression and anxiety. Well after the positive response I got from some of you in my previous posts, I have decided to be more active in raising awareness surrounding the stigma that is often associated with depression.
In Australia there is a organization called beyondblue which is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related disorders in Australia.
So my proposal is this: I will be hosting an auction on here offering to write little fics, art & fan mixes for the highest bidder. The money raised will be donated to the beyondblue Depression Research Ancillary Fund Trust Deed (link). If you want to donate money without participating in the auction that is ok. So give what you can and feel free to spread the word! Depression is one of the most common of all mental health problems and 1 in 5 people will at one stage have depression. So it's so important for all of us to help raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with it so that people know that they can get help and have the programs and services available to them.
I would really appreciate anything that people are willing to give. As you know this is something very close to my heart, so your support would just be magnificent!
ETA: The amazing rubber-glue suggested that I open the auction for anyone who wants to make something for people to bid on. So if you want to either participate in the auction or offer to make something for it for people to bid on, please let me know here and then I can do a proper post for the auction.
