when i get back from my doctors appt. i'm happy and in a good mood because everything went well, and i got to hear my lil baby's heartbeat....
yesterday...i did not come home happy.
right away i learned that i gained 6lbs...which realllly upsets me... although the nurse said it was fine. i only gained 2 extra lbs than i should have... and with the holidays, and going on vacation, etc... i should have exspected that.
uhhh.......NO! i hate hearing that i've gained at all...and 6lbs seems like a lot to me.
second she told me that my bloodwork and my suger test came back...and that i tested borderline for gestastional diabetes....
140 and lower is good... mine came back 141.
so now i have to be retested... which sucks... because i hate that test... the orange drink they make you drink before drawing your blood is sooo disgusting...i can barely keep it down.
and instead of the usual one hour test... this time i have to be there for three hours.
gestational diabetes is really common in pregnancy...and usually goes away right after having the baby....
but the part that bothers me...is once having gestational diabetes theres a 50% chance that you will have full blown diabetes by the time your 40 years old. and that to me is very scary.
i go next thursday for my testing...and then it will be a few weeks before i see my doctor again to find out anything.....
so in the meantime..... i'll just worry.
