Lieutenant Kozlov S.A. during the battle to break through the defense lines of the enemy, near the river Narev between 14th and 17th of January 1945, and in later battles on the territory of eastern Prussia, operated a heavy tank in such clever way that successfully accomplished the mission set by his comrades. During the mission he was known to show bravery and courage. Mission was a success. What was destroyed are: tank “Panther”, 4 artillery systems and over 50 enemy soldiers and officers.
Was rewarded with a medal "Order of the Patriotic War - 2nd class".
(The Order of the Patriotic War was awarded to soldiers in the Soviet armed forces for heroic deeds during the Great Patriotic War).

Лейтенант Козлов С.А. во время боевых действий Бригады по прорыву обороны противника в р-не плацдарма на реке Нарев с 14 по 17 января 1945 Г. и в последующих боях на территории Восточной Пруссии умелым вождением тяжелого танка обеспечивал успешное выполнение боевой задачи поставленной экипажам. Во время боевых действий проявил мужество и отвагу. Экипаж танка боевую задачу выполнил. При этом было уничтожено: танк "ПАНТЕРА", четыре орудия противника и до 50 солдат и офицеров противника.
Удостоин Правительственной награды орденом "ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 2-й Степени"
