i have a new job. i will be working at the co-op that's a 5 minute drive from the house i live at now. which means for at least the first month i'll be able to bike. which is exciting. as of right now, they want me to work full time in their cafe. i'll be opening, setting up the cafe area and salad bar, probably making some sandwiches and stuff, and working the drive through. there are two downers. well, two and a half.
1. the shift starts at 6 am. which means i'm up by 5:30. suck. i'm hoping i can convince them to give me sunday-thursday so i'll have some semblance of a weekend. on the upside, i'm excited to have afternoons to myself. i'll also get to see my little sister more.
2. if i work there, it means i'll be living at home still. and i don't want to for much longer. they pay more than i was making at bn, and about the same as at starbucks. and i won't have to commute for the winter. and i don't pay rent. still thinking about how it's going to be to be stuck in the burbs for the winter.
2.5. i don't remember what the other bit was. oh, yeah. i also haven't figured out if i am quitting at starbucks. they might be crabby that i had open availability (now, in the interim between starting new job and quitting old) and then i'd only be able to work 1-2 days a week. plus, it would kinda suck to work 6-3 and 4-12 serving coffee.
oh, and the other other thing: i have to learn how to make coffee. at starbucks, everything is pre-measured, i don't even know how to work an espresso machine. at starbucks, you hit a button and two shots come out. anyways, i'm not really worried about it, it's just kind of amusing.
oh, and i also have been thinking about helping out with a state senate campaign in my free afternoons. my secret plan is to do that, and when she wins, work for her at the capitol answering phones or whatever. oh, and maybe go back to school someday. *sigh*
