Author's Note: This is for the Why Yoosu contest. I kind of ended up just blabbing, so I apologize if umm nothing makes sense whatsoever. =)
It’s pretty hard to explain, why out of all the possible adorable couples in the group DBSK, I love the YooSu couple the most. Sometimes even I don’t know why I love them to death. Although as I watch the little moments that they share in every videos, I just know within my heart that they are the ones I look forward to seeing the most.
There’s just this chemistry that is visible between them. Whether it’s through the ways they tease each other, the way the look at each other, or just the way they stand next to each other knowing what the other is thinking. They are just that tandem that makes you giggle for hours and take your focus away from everything else.
Alright. It’s just hard to explain “Why Yoosu?”…so let me break it down to you.
Their friendship is wonderful. It’s genuine and you just know it’s not fake. You rarely got to see two celebrities who are truly this close with each other. Some may ponder about their true friendship and whether its just for fan service or not, but I feel that what they show on television is the real deal. The clip of their couple talk clearly shows that. Junsu and Yoochun are also there with each other when the other needs help. Just take the Proud performance for example. Whether on or off cam, Yoosu’s friendship is just strong.
Like I mentioned earlier, whether it’s just for the fans or not, they truly care for one another. Sometimes they even make you wonder whether they really are more than just friends. With every passing moment, they continue to prove to us fans that they seriously complete one another…that when one’s not there, the other is longing for him to come back. It’s obvious that they feel most comfortable when they’re in the presence of one another…to the point where they can joke around and laugh at each other’s lame jokes.
For me, Yoosu just seems to complete each other. Yoochun manages to bring out the child in Junsu like no other really can. He has the ability to make Junsu laugh to the point where he can no longer breathe. When the dolphin boy needs help, Yoochun is there to rescue him, to cheer him up. Yoochun is quieter compared to the loud Junsu. But with Junsu’s bubbly personality, he is capable of bringing Yoochun’s lively personality out. When Yoochun cries once again, Junsu is the one there to comfort him and give him a hug. They complete each other so much that when Yoochun accomplishes something, who comes to give him a high five or a hug first? Junsu does. When Junsu accomplishes one thing or cracks a lame joke, who’s there to hold Junsu’s hand and laugh out loud? Yoochun is the one. The way they can be sentimental with each other but at the same time be playful just balances evereything out.
As much as there are times that they are wonderful together, there are also times that Yoosu might seem like they “dislike” one another. They tease each other and make fun of one another. Yoochun says Junsu’s ugly. Junsu says Yoochun has a large foreheard, big enough to play soccer. Yoochun tells Junsu to shut up when he’s trying to explain something. Junsu on the other hand, tries to wring Yoochun’s neck for making him look stupid. Whatever it is that make it seem like they might truly not be that close of friends, I think that it’s this part of them that makes them real. In my opinion, this is how they show their love for one another.
YOOSU.
That wonderful name. It consists of one adorable and bubbly boy by the name of Xiah Junsu. The man with the unique laugh that happens to be very contagious. The man who stole everyone’s heart with his cute angel pose. Yoochun makes up the other half of it. Park Yoochun, the dandy boy who’s always laughing and is always laid back. The man with his romantic and smooth ways when it comes to girls.
In the end, it really depends on the person whether you want to view them as just friends or as more than friends. But for me, whether its friends or lovers, they still remain that lovable Yoosu couple that manages to melt everyone’s hearts by just the laughs they share. “Yoosu” is actually just a name. Even under the spotlights, they are YOOCHUN and JUNSU. Nothing more, nothing less. It just so happens that when these two are put together, people can see that connection that bonds them together.
I’ll leave it up to you all to decide for yourself why it’s the Yoosu couple. But I’ve made up my mind. Yoosu because they’re real, because they visibly love each other, because they care for one another, because they’re willing to go through changes together and help one another, because they’re imperfect and its obvious that they get hurt, and because they remain to be separate people…Yoochun and Junsu who just happens to be DBSK’s adorable tandem.
I know I wrote a lot, but my main point is, Yoosu is THE couple. Without seeing or hearing even a bit about the Yoosu pair, my day isn’t complete. Whether its for forever or for only a certain period of time, they'll always have a special place in my heart. In a sense, they complete me. I also firmly believe that they complete all of us.
The duck and the rabbit…it makes perfect sense! <3
And of course, I can't end this without letting everyone watch this video for the 100th time. "Junsu, come here babe!"
