Hiatus

Please post here if you are going to be on Hiatus for a week or more. Although a post in the OOC community is greatly appreciated, for the sake of Activity Checks, posting here is necessary.

• If you do not post here, your hiatus will not be taken into consideration during the activity check every fifth of the month.

• The maximum amount of time that is allowed for someone to be on hiatus without talking to a moderator is one month. If you must be on hiatus for longer than that, then contact a mod to discuss the situation. This is to be sure that nobody is character sitting by taking a hiatus for an inordinate amount of time.

• If you are on hiatus for over a month without speaking to a moderator, your hiatus will not be taken into consideration in the next activity check.

• If a player takes long hiatuses too frequently, such as more than once a month, or even once every month for long periods, then we will approach you personally to discuss the problem. This is to avoid people using the hiatus method to be exempt from Activity Checks and thus end up potentially character sitting. However, we do understand that life can just get very hectic, so we will not take action before contacting you.

• When you come back from your hiatus, please notify us by replying to your original hiatus notice in this post. An announcement in reverie_ooc  is not required, but you can still do so so the rest of the community can welcome you back~.

Explanation for your Character's absence during your Hiatus: In order to keep the game flowing smoothly, when a player hiatuses and potentially misses whole events, there needs to be a reason for their character not being present. So we have come up with a general explanation that everyone can use if they so choose.

This is optional, but if you do not want to use our explanation you MUST provide one of your own in the form.

Our explanation is as follows: Memoria has transported your character to another location for a more intimate study of their memories and human tendencies, so on and so forth.

This can happen in the middle of the night or it can happen while your character is walking on the street minding their own business. It can even happen in the presence of other characters, if you wish to use it as a plot device in a log or post to reverie_lane . However, if you choose to have it happen in a log or voice/text/video post, it MUST be recent to keep continuity.

When your character disappears, that's all that happens, they are there one moment and the next they are not, no flashing lights or sound effects involved.

When they return, they have no memories of where they were or what happened, but they somehow know that they were in Memoria's presence. It's just an instinctive feeling. They will also appear in the same spot that they disappeared and may have a bit of a headache to boot.
