sometimes, i surprise myself. wanna know a weird story? TOO BAD. mwahahaha. nah, i'll tell you a different story.

so, yesterday was like my last day of work (though, i'll still be "on call"...). well, it SUCKED. first: what i *THINK* was a security audit. one of the new security guards came into handbags to do a return. he said it was a gift, he had no receipt, and it didn't have a CRL sticker on it because it was from macy's east. well, normally, i would've given him some grief..but adele (who's been at macy's FOREVER) told me to just go ahead and do it...so i did. then, i was all paranoid afterwards thinking i was going to get called into the security office. i didn't. well...a few minutes before i was going to leave a lady (i have no idea what nationality she was) came up and bought some things on her macy's card. well, security told us a couple weeks ago that we had to check EVERYONE's ID..even if it's a macy's card. soo..that's all i was doing..following security's protocol..and she says, as she is showing me her ID "nobody has ever asked for my ID"..i explain to her about the new procedure la da daaa..and she says "just yesterday i bought $200 worth of stuff"..i tell her very nicely that they should have checked for her ID..and she says "no, no..i get it, you girls see a person of a different color come in here..." ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHJKWH JKUHEiqwuy8o21 u38832(*#$*(#$*(#090324 03988 98439038439#()$*#()$...i politely cut her off..i'm COMPLETELY offended..and i say "I'm really sorry that you feel you've been wronged in some way...but let me assure you that i was just following procedure...we do this for your safety!. if it would make you feel more at ease, i can call security and have them inform you of the new system." she says "whatever"..yanks the receipt out of my hand and storms off. yeah, brought tears to my eyes. i wish she wouldn't have gotten to me the way she did..but she did..what the hell man? wtf, does she think?? she shouldn't have talked that way to anyone..but it's like...c'mon. my whole family is full of minorities..including myself...she was so ignorant it makes me want to PUKE. yeah, it was discrimination..i asked her for her ID because i knew she was whatever the hell she was and i hate everyone. damn, made me thankful that it was my last day.

this incident did make me think. i mean...i'm a mutt. some people think i'm asian (i am part filipino) some people think i'm latin (i am half spanish) and some people accept me as being white (i am german, irish and scottish). i've never really dealt with being discriminated against..not that i know of. however, by the people who, i guess, assume i am white...i hear a lot of crap. it does make you feel uncomfortable. like, the other day, this lady at work..she means well i suppose...but whenever someone starts something off with 'i'm not racist but..." you know it's going to be bad. she was saying stuff about how it's the filipinos who rip the tags off the purses...and how it's the mexicans and filipinos who buy the ugly liz claiborne charm purses. i gave an uncomfortable laugh..not knowing if she knew my nationality. i probably should've said something...bleh. anyway.

peace...i'm off to ikea, frys and wal-mart to do some shopping before i head back to davis tomorrow.
