I saw some of you guys don’t know where to download MQ-HQ scans to color, so I make this little guide. Hope this help.
First, I’d talk about the quality of the scans. As you may know, actually the quality of the scan is not that important. You still can make gorgeous colorings out of crappy quality scans, but you must prepare to do a lot of the cleaning and redrawing.
Put that aside, I’ve never used any scans from online site reading to do manga colorings. Because they’ve been resized, and yet have low quality. My first choice is to use the raw if they’re available, and if I can't find the raws, I'll go to the scanlation's site and download scanlations from there.
There are some raw-manga sites that updates daily and you can download from like:
http://updateraw.comUpdate daily, use hosts like Lumfile and Ryushare. I recommend to use these sites when you want to update you raw volumes from any manga.
Htt://Excnn.com
Update daily, use various hosts, like bitshare and the others. They mostly get all the raws packed in one or two rar files so you don’t have to download invidual volume. I recommend this site when you have to download many volumes at once.
http://manga.vnsharing.netThis is a Vietnamese sharing site, but their manga section is English-friendly. I often find download link from this forum since their links are mostly mediafire, which is easier to download for free. But sometime they require registering to download. It’s very easy! Go to
http://vnsharing.net/forum/register.php?do=register and make yourself a nick. You don't have to activate email tho.
This is their
English manga list (original from the scanlation group) and
raw manga list. Still if you can't find something from these list, use google search instead.
http://rawscans.com/Update daily and use various hosts. But their links are dead pretty much. Still you can use this when those 3 above do not have something you want.
Raw-manga.com
They have mostly shoujo and BL-manga raws. They do not have high quality, but they do have some of the hard to find raws and artbooks.
To download for free from these hosts like lumfile and ryushare, I recommend a software that called Jdownloader. They can do ALL the clickie things, organizing and all you have to do is copy the link, then wait a little and enter the captcha when asked, it can even unrar the files for you. It’s the smartest downloader out there in my opinion.
So, what to do if the raws of some manga you want to color are not available in the internet? Then use the scanlation downloaded from the scanlation group. NOT the online site reading. You can use mangaupdates.com to find the website of a scanlation group, and go there to download.
A helpful tip when using google search, you can use site:site title manga title, for example: "site:raw1st.com pandora hearts" (minus the quotes), you’ll find what you need in seconds.
OR if you really want to color something, but still can’t find the scan, feel free to request here, I’ll use all I have got to search for you. And if you have any question, do ask me tho.
Oh and this month challenge is already
