A/N: A key part of Mark and Ida's story is that they tend to operate more on spiritual planes and principles than Emil and Marce do. The dichotomy of what a friend of mine used to call as "faith versus civil work" is apparent with these four. Anyway, a drabble on Mark's beliefs
I don't believe in accidents or coincidence. That's not surprising given my line of work. Yet I don't entirely believe in chaos and probability. There are just some things that are said to be improbable---like the chance of a child coming out relatively unscathed from rubella.
Yet as I adjust my hearing aids, I can't help but wonder about how and why it all happened. What trick spared me? What prompted my mother to save me when she could have done otherwise? Most importantly, why did it happen?
There's Someone out there. There's no other way for it to happen.
