One of the craziest things about the internet is just how it can turn the most random, inane thing into a cult phenomenon, Take for example, this clip from a local fair in Ohio.

I love that line, "Alright, you're a great... zombie!"

So, normally, when a kid goes to a local fair, gets pulled aside for an interview and says something totally inane ( Read more... )

You didn't hear about the Star Wars kid?

Well, don't feel bad, it was about four five years ago.

Basically, what happened was a young, slightly portly teenager was doing a project for school when he decided to take a break and film himself in front of a camera wielding a light saber a la Darth Maul from Star Wars The Phantom Menace.

It wasn't he intended to let anyone see, but apparently the tape was found (or left forgotten in the camera, dunno which) and some classmates, as a joke, went and uploaded it to a file sharing services. Within weeks, the video was downloaded God only knows how many times, especially after someone else went in and add Star Wars SOUND and LIGHT SABER effects to the movie, making it look like he was actually holding a light saber and using it to deflect numerous laser blasts.

The video was then been edited dozens time, sometimes put in with clips from The Matrix, Kill Bill, South Park, you name. This cause the guy become something of a celebrity, something the teen did NOT want, especially with guys in forum ragging on him, calling him "fat" and "stupid" and all that stuff.

His parents ended up seeing the families kids who uploaded the tape, as they did it WITHOUT his permission.

If you're curious, you can check out the story at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_wars_kid

It also has links to the original video.

Oh... well I feel sorry for that kid. :/ I hate attention so that'd be like my worst nightmare. (Well, some attention is ok. But not that much.)
