So, as I mentioned in a previous entry, about the pan being dropped on my toe, well, a few nights ago my toenail came off. Well, technically, I pulled it off, but the thing had swelled so much it was practically pushed off. Anyway, as painful as it sounds, it really didn't hurt that much. It's really surreal though, looking at your detached.toenail. It's also surreal looking at a toe with no nail on it. It's like.. I dunno strawberry jam, I guess (except without all the seed floating around.)
Anyway, so I've got some antibiotic on it and have been changing the bandage regularly.
Let's see, other new, oh that traffic thing. Turns out when I backed out of the parking lot, I bumped another car and did some damage to it. You see, my car (an 89 Lincoln) is built a bit like a tank, with metal bumper, this guy's car (a 2003 Mau or something) had like, a plastic bumper or some such. Anyway, if left a bit of a dent. Wasn't too bad, I'm told, but I didn't even realize I'd caused any damage. You see, the parking lot is so damn narrow, I was backing out REAL slow. I felt a tap, but didn't think I'd been going fast enough to do any damage.
I know, I know, I should have gotten out and looked..
Anyway, the guy was on his cigarette break, saw this, and tried to flag me down, but I didn't hear him.
The officer was real nice and stuff, they just needed my insurance info and whatnot. Got a copy of the accident report and, later, called my insurance agent. Dunno if my insurance will rise because of this, it shouldn't be too bad though.
So, that's that.
Let's see, what else?
Oh, oh, me and some friends from work went and saw Shoot 'Em Up last night. That film was FREAKING AWESOME. I mean, it's so crazy and over the top it's like John Woo meets Loony Tunes. Hehe. It's even nuttier than the film Crank (another movie I liked.)
Basically the plot (and you should giggle after the word "plot" is used in reference to this movie) is a guy is sitting at a bunch and he sees a pregnant girl running by being chased by a thug who's obviously intent on killer. Guy, sighs, gets up, saves the girl (who gives birth during the ensuing gun fight) and evil guys henchmen show. During the battle, the girl is killed, and our hero has to keep the baby safe while trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
I can't not describe how over the top and hilarious some of the action scenes are. In one bit, the guy is running along a bridge, bad guys in a car chasing and shooting at him. He looks down from the bridge and sees an unoccupied fancy car (think it was a Ferrari, but not sure) with a glass sunroof below.
He freaking JUMPS off the bridge, and, while descending, fires his gun several times, weakening the sunroof just enough so he can crash right through it and INTO the driver's seat!
Oh, man, I don't know, I find that kind of thing hysterical.
So, if that sounds like your cop of tea, check it out.
Let's see, right now I'm doing my phone job. They have several NICE guaranteed rate hours this week, we're talking several 10 and 12 dollar hours. So, even though today is my day off, I'm working on this cause I NEED money. Got all kinda of stuff I could really use right and can't afford (not to mention all the bills and debts I need pay off.)
Still no response to ANY of the resumes or applications I've put out. Thinking I may just have to try and get another part time job for awhile and work like crazy until something more careerwise comes along.
Oh, yeah, Angel, you asked me once what type of job I want to get with my degree. Well, really hoping something creative.. like web design, graphic design, or maybe even video editing. Said it before and I'll say it again, wish I'd taken Mass Media..
But anyhow..
I gotta go, calls are getting more frequent.
