So, I just stepped out of the shower, thinking of making a quick journal entry and then possibly go uptown, when I go into the downstairs (where mom has her computer) the TV is going and just heard, Anna Nicole Smith is DEAD.
Whoa!
That's crazy. I mean, she was only like 39, and it seems just yesterday she was in the news when you son died.
I won't lie to you, didn't think much of her as a person. I mean, marrying an old guy just to get his money (oh yeah, I'm sure she really loved him, yeah, and grown men rent Mary Kate and Ashley videos because they admire the twins acting abilities) and felt she didn't deserve the (albeit short lived) tv show she got on E!, but still... wouldn't have wished death on the young woman.
They don't seem to know what the cause is yet.. I know the internet is probably already a buzz with rumors and tasteless jokes (course, that happens any time a celeb dies.)
As I thought, went over the ANS board at
imdb.com (a terrific site, BTW) only to find a couple posts along the lines of "Thank God she's dead." Right in the middle of skimming through one, I clicked on a reply to find the entire thread was just deleted by an administrator. Guess they'll be busy for a bit.
Weell... how do you transition from talking about someone dying to the more mundane details of your life?
Today I was going to do some cleaning and work at my phone taking job. Well, checked the website and the only phone call hours available were 5 to 6. Well, that sucked. I had planning on doing that for most of the afternoon.
Instead I alternated from cleaning up my room to working on a school project. This particular project was for my digital works class (or something, can't remember what exactly it's called.) We have to create two pictures using elements from at least ten different pictures. The first picture is a self portrait, but he said he doesn't want us to actually put a picture of ourselves in it. The second is simply supposed to be "our ideal room."
Been really stumped on what to do with the second one, but I think I've finally come up with an idea. Gonna make a room with a nice comfy chair, huge plasma tv, two HUGE speakers (that are connected to the tv) a couple of other neat things, and the piece de resistence, a lizardman bodyguard! Hehe. The bodyguard is actually a picture of a plastic toy I've had since I was kid, altered a bit with photoshop.
I originally had the idea of doing a huge hallway with a large throne and an army of lizardman standing at the foot of the throne, but I think I'll do that for a different picture instead. That or something with like me on a balcony overlooking the army, sort of like that scene with Sauron in The Two Towers.
Anyway, in the room department, did a bit of dusting, put a bunch of VHS tapes into a box (I'll photograph and put them up for auction on eBay later), and I went into the closet and cleaned out a bunch of stuff. Can NOT believe how many tin cases I've amassed over the past several Christmas. The square ones I might have found a purpose for, but the rest?
Got rid of some boxes, some old stuff that doesn't work, put a bunch of stuff I didn't think would sell (but still might be useful to someone) in a box to donate to the local Salvation Army. Also took several books out and I plan to try and trade them to one of the second hand bookstores in town (we can get store credit if they want your stuff.
Had a couple of sneezing fits here and there. Did I mention I'm allergic to dust mites? Well, I am. Thinking one of this days I'm going to buy an air filter, that should help cut back on the varous things that can make me sneeze or bother my asthma.
