Echo... echo... echo...
So, I'm sitting here right now, taking phone calls for HSN, been a bit quiet though as not too many people have been calling.
Okay, had game nights on Friday and Saturday. Friday wasn't too bad, the group was bit smaller, and some of the people knew each other, but it didn't seem like the "we already have enough people, thanks" type atmosphere I seem to encounter at SIU. The fellow who runs the group is actually an IT teacher there at the college, so I even talked to him for some tips about my degree and job hunting.
Course, we had nine people, and there weren't games that played nine players, so two of the guys just kind of went off by themselves and played Magic The Gathering, several others went and played a Munchkin card game, and me and three others were trying to play a board game. The game looked neat, but turned out ot be rather complicated and not very exciting, so, we quiet.
Here's where it go slightly sucky, two of the guys who were in the other board game just went over and joined in the munchin game (even though they had been playing for about twenty minutes now). So, I was kind of left with nothing really to do. I tried to get the two guys who were playing Magic when they got done to see if they wanted to play a short D&D game with me as the GM (I had a small campaign with me) but they didn't seem too interested.
So, I just kind of read some things, and waited. Finally, the munchkin game was over and we spent the last hour playing Zombies. I must say, though, the fellows at the other game did acknowledge the rest of us were just kind of sitting around with nothing, although, they thought their would be over "soon" so, I didnt' try to hard to start up another game with the remaining people..
Still though, the afternoon wasn't too bad. I did leave feeling just a tad depressed though, as I sometimes get when I'm spend time with a group and then end up leaving to go back alone to my "life".
I'll try it again next week though, maybe I'll be able to get a few guy interested in a campaign then... (or maybe something else will have shaped up.)
Also went to the SIU group yesterday. I'll talk about that later...
