some minor complaints

Well, BAD NEWS.  I've got an ear infection.  Doc (well, his MA) said my right ear is all red and "terrible" looking.

GOOD NEWS: They gave me some prescription antibiotics which they said should clear my ear up in a few days.

BAD NEWS: Said antibiotics apparently have the side effect of giving me stomach cramps and bad diarrhea.

So, yeah, that where things are right now.  My ear was feeling better earlier today, but now it's bothering me.  The inside canal is definitely swollen, and I had bit of fluid dripping in there (I think it was clear, not sure though.)  Been using some earache drops I've got at Wal-Mart and running hot water over a washcloth (or towel) rinsing it out and then compressing the warm cloth up against my ear.  That's sort of been helping, but you know, only so much.

Having a bit of trouble focusing on this, every time I swallow, there's a small jolt of pain on the side of my head.  Luckily, it's been mostly quiet tonight.  We have a full house, and there's only two people left to check in.  The down part is we have about FIFTY checkouts tonight, which is going to suck when it comes to me delivering all the check out slips.

Okay, okay.. try to focus on something more positive.  Er... can't think of much right now.

While I was at the doctor, got my blood pressure check again.  For some reason I just can't seem to get the top number lowered.  The bottom one seems to be doing okay, the top is hovering in the over 130 section.  So, I've decided to (once again) try to eat better.  This time I'm trying to focus on cutting down my sodium intake.  Turns out though, pretty much all the foods I really enjoy have too much sodium in them (sigh.)  Been looking into other things as well, read recently that pomegranates are good for... something or other.  Not sure if it was lowering cholesterol or vitamins in general, but I figured, "Hey, I don't think I've ever eaten those, let's try some."

Well, I could find any pomegranates at the store I went to on Thurs, but I did find Red Ruby Pomegranate juice (and yes, I checked to make sure it was juice and not just sugar water masquerading as juice.)  So, I bought a jug, saying I'm going to try a drink a glass or two of it everyday, but I got so thirsty in the parking lot (it was freaking HOT that day) I tried a bit then and there and WHOA!  That stuff was GOOD!  I may have buy me several jugs of that because I dunno if I could stop at one glass...

Also, in the "Things I Read that Can Help You Out" vein, as bought some cinnamon spice.  Gonna try and add to something or other (maybe next time I boil some rice) or perhaps try and eat a little bit plain.

I know, I know, the real biggie I should be aiming is exercise, it's just that might be a bit tough at the moment.  My right ankle is another one of it's "hurt every time I put weight on it" phases.

Oh, some good news, I FINALLY got the meds I was supposed to get like a month ago.  Just started them one Thursday.  Hopefully with the two depression meds I'm already on, that'll be the combo that helps get my mood stabilized.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think watching my weight and exercising will be alot easier once my moods are on an even keel.

depression, exercise, ear ache, medicine, food, health
