My co-worker needed to do something early next week, so she switched days with me, and I got off last Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri nights. I didn't want to spend the whole period in this apartment, so I called up my stepbro and turns out they were free for Thursday and Fri, so I headed over there. Oh, gotta back up a bit.. before that on Wednesday I hung out with my one of co-workers Ashley (she's the one I've got the crush on, not the one who
I went to the movie with), and we going to meet up at Goofy Golf (a miniature golf place) and play for a bit, me her and her daughter (who's like nine or so.) I'd meet her daughter briefly a few weeks back when my co-worker's mom and dad and her daughter stopped by the hotel to pick her up after work.
Just some background info, my co-worker, by her own admission was rather "wild" in her old days, and had a baby like nine years ago (she's now about 26, so you can do that math.) For the most part, her daughter is raised by her mom (her daughter's grandmother.) In fact, she often refers to her grandmother as "mom". Anyway, she's a sweet kid, real funny, seems to have a decent head on her shoulders. Despite the upbringing she seems to do well socially so I guess that's good.
Anyway, the unknown to us, the golf place was CLOSED, and didn't up till around 5pm (guess they want to wait till it cools down before letting people on the links), so we went over to the park to hang out. Just across from the park was the local outdoor swimming pool, and man, that place look fun. They had TWO big water slides and some kind "waterfall" type thing where this dome continuously has water following down it. Man, I'm seriosuly thinking of going over there to swim next time I have some days off.
Like I said, we hung around the dark, which wasn't too bad, despite how humid it was that day. Alyssia was really fascinated by all the trees that had been uprooted from the
storm. She started climbing up on them and walking around the trunks (bit of a daredevil that one is.) At one point, I picked her up off a large tree stump, and starting walking with her slung over my shoulder, then I stumbled over the uneven ground and almost fell. During the whole incidient, Alyssia just giggled, apparently unaware how close I came to falling and landing on her (even when I explained what could of happen, she still kept giggling, guess she's oblvious to what having some like me fall on you would feel like.)
After a bit, I got bored of the park, and being that we'd have to leave soon (Alyssia's dad was coming to pick her up around 3:30 or so), I suggested we go down to the Dairy Queen to get some ice cream. Ashley and her daughter got their orders immediately, but I somehow got stuck with a trainee making mine (I know she was a trainer cause it said on her badge, even without her wide "deer in headlights, dunno what I'm doing look" gave it away. I know, I know, we all gotta start somewhere, it's just I got a little impatient waiting, and half began to suspect that by the time I got back to the table, the girls would already be finished with their treats and be ready to go.
I'll post more on my trip to my stepbro's later.
