So I'm back. Well, frankly, I got back last Thursday but first there was this whole 'oooh, regular sleep and food!' excitement and me meeting with various people and subtly bragging about the glorious time I had in Wrocław and they didn't. you know the drill. And then my PC croaked up on me. On a Saturday, no less, meaning it was full five days ( Read more... )

I tried to watch as many as possible. Which was both exhausting and exhilarating. It's really a shame film festivals are once-in-a-year events.

Yeah, well... one a year is still better than none. ;p

Wise words, these. And, frankly, there are other Polish film festivals in Poland. It's just this one is the most easily accessible. And affordable. Well, and the biggest. It really has it all going for it ;)

Ok, I need to stop talking, that only makes me miss it more. And it's not like I don't have more than enough movies accumulated at home. Movies that have been waiting for bloody months now (somehow, watching movies at home requires much more effort that going to the cinema, baffling). Good movies, too. I suppose it's time to finally stop whining senselessly and wasting time on pointless Internet-browsing and get to them.

Yep, sounds like a plan. Right, getting to it right now. Uhm, perhaps a bit more Internet first. Just a little bit. *sigh* here it goes again.

Oh, so very true!

I have gotten better at watching stuff at home again though, but I have come across a few stinkers. I tend to watch movies at home that I never would have watched in the cinema... weird.

Happy viewing!

My main problem with watching movies at home is that they are too easily available. I always know that I can watch them later. And since I watch them on my computer and my computer has also an Internet access and we all know how many many sparkly things the Internet has to offer I usually tell myself just that. That I'll watch them later. And later. And later. And even when I finally do get down to actually watching them, about half an hour in I remember that there was this one little thing that I meant to check out on the net and it will take just one second and it's no big deal because I can come back to the movie any time I want LATER. The whole situation really pisses me off ( ... )

That's my same dilemma. I'm just able to watch more now since I hijacked my dad's computer and connected it to my TV, so if there's something I need to do online, I'll just grab my laptoå while watching the film.

Romantic comedies *shudders*
Yeah, I've watched a few of those at home as well.

Romantic comedies, yeah, they are sneaky buggers. You know well enough to avoid them in cinemas because they are huge and scary there. At home, though, they look much tamer. Almost harmless. You let them close, that's how they manage to lunge at your throat. Only then you realize your mistake.

Yeah, and they tempt you with actors as well.
There are very few romentic comedies, or romantice dramas for that matter that are on my list of ok or good movies.

Oh, yeah, the actors. I forgot about the actors. How could I forget about the actors? Baffling.
I've been known to watch total crap just because of eye candy. I've watched 'Devour', for God's sake.
