You'd really think that after the frantic hassle with the Oscars last year, I'd finally try to be a sensible person this year and set myself a feasible pace. I didn't. As a result, there's only three days left, and I still got to watch nine movies, review more than half a dozen already-watched ones and write a pre-Oscar report. A freaking disaster

Ryan Gosling has come a long way since 'Young Hercules'. I haven't seen him in much after that, but I do think he's talented.

THe only movie I saw him in before 'Half Nelson' was 'The Believer' (a very very good movie, btw) which, well, formed my perception of Ryan Gosling in a very specific way. Meaning as a dangerous, fierce, tragic and utterly fascinating young man. Until I see a blatant proof to the contrary, Gosling will forever be totally hardcore for me. But I hope I don't. Gosling pulls off excellent hardcore.

I've heard about 'The Believer', that's the one where he's a nazi who discovers he's a Jew?
I've only seen him in 'Remember the Titans', where he had a small role, and 'United States of Leland', which I actually really liked.
