Hey didn't I have a meme going on.
Geneforge is that series I will rec to anyone who holds still for long enough. Incidentally, of the two Spiderweb Software series (serieses...?) I prefer Avernum, but have never actually played past the demos for anything except Blades, while I have every last one of the Geneforge line.
There's uh. Replay value. Multiple endings. Also Avernum is basically a normal RPG sort of thing and you make your entire party, which means no characterization so I don't quite feel justified shelling out for it. I do like the normal RPG aspect though. The difficulty is scaled enough to be remarkably simple for a dirty dirty minmaxer like me.
