27 FEBRUARY 2006, MONDAY (PUBLICK)
Friday - Watched SG1, SGA, BSG on Sci-Fi.
Saturday - drove bike up to Wheeler and no one was there... But, boy was it a great ride and does the bike purr... I am love with my motorcycle! Picked a beach/park off the list I have and found it on the map then drove out. Very picturesque. But, about 20 feet out the whole beach had hard rock. Was good for wading up to your chest and leaping into the occasional big wave. Not a good place to snorkle or swim. But, I nad fun. Will look to kayaking there in the future since there is a small island just off shore that looks great and isn't a game/nature preserve. Saw people fisihng off it. Stopped for a shrimp snack from a roadside shack. Then went out for buffet and stuffed myself with fish and veggies.
Sunday - Slept in and then cleaned up my room, bathroom, and apartment. Played Stronghold Crusader (SC) for an hour or so and then cruised over to Pearl ridge mall and hit the natural food place to pick up detergent and some soy snacks. Then shopped at various sports stores and the PX and just wheeling around Honolulu three hours. Was trapped in a furniture store for about 15 minutes when one of the mini-monsoons blew through. Bought a new gym bag, some protein goop, some Noni purefying juice, and an inexpensive Kayak paddle at the Navy Exchange (they finally got them in and they were almost sold out when I got there - only two left). It is stupid that the Navy Excange on-line store has several nice kayak paddles but will not ship them to Hawaii... Ate light, watched some TV and crashed out early.
Woke up slightly tired but after a good sleep (finally!). It must be because it was slightly chilly making the bed feel comfy. And it was monsooning out all night so the sound of the rain was there to sooth me... sort of like spring back home.
For some reason I drempt I was transfering to Alaska. I was setting up a Post Office box for mail, looking at storage containers, and talking to this guy about places to live off post (this in some sort of wharehouse). Pretty monduane really. but, very vivid. Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass if I ended up with my last assignment in Alaska? This was my first assignment in 1975. It would be going complete circle back to the begining in a sense...
Monday - AM - HVN2MUCHFUN called and we talked for a long time. So many interesting twists and turns in her life. Mostly educational without being too negative. Many should have those kinds of learning experiances...
Karate tonight. I am starting to get close to being ready for the Purple Belt test in a few more weeks. And the instructor is starting to bug us Orange Belts about doing the local monthly tournament in March. We shall see!
