I got my GPS adaptor for the laptop today, so now I can have a play with APRS on amateur bands I've used the MASC equivelent which is very good, I like it because with the HT's I use you can stun the radio if its lost, therefore rendering it as usefull as a housebrick. I also purchased a copy of Memory Maps complete for the company which will also help with other stuff as well :)
Got to find 30 odd MT1000's this week now for a client, should be good if he wants them as he wants them for hire, so I make a bit either way. As long as I know when he needs them for I can make sure I have a Hirer's licence from OfCom luckly he doesn't need them installing into vehicles or I'd need a seperate licence also. The Client has also asked me to quote on a radio controller as well as my events team, which adds a bit to the profit margins, maybe I can break even this year after all. But who knows :)
I am hoping this week will go well enough and the weather is supposed to cheer up on saturday which I hope it does so that I can get up to the hill I want to with the mast and array to try the 2m rig out for doing the competition the weekend after. I don't like competing in anything Blind. Plus it should be interesting running on 2.5w anyway.
