manga and bit of pms
k. went to border's today to check out a manga series i started reading, chobits. and to my delight, they had a special on tokyopop manga: buy two get one free. wee. so i picked up chobits three through five and nick also picked some manga up. we get to the checkout and the dood there says that it doesn't apply or some bullshit. what the fuck. there was a rounder that had the sale sign on it and it didn't say 'selected titles' or any of that. so nick just buys two and says fuck it. cos the dood said it probably only applied to the ones on the display. so then i try to check out, and chobits was on the fucking display :D, and he says it's a no-go. 'all right, ' i say, 'let me show you the rounder.' i take him over there and he has this durr look on his face. he pulls another sales person over (thank you btw, for giving a straight answer instead of standing there with a thumb up your ass, and another dood said the same thing as you, so thank you both) and she says that it applied to all the tokyopop titles cos it had no specifics on the sign. so we go back up to the counter and i get my 'buy two get one free' manga. dammit. and then, since they gave it to me, we decided to be asses and try to get nick the additional book that he wanted. so dumbass dood from before's like, 'lemme call the manager' and when she gets there, she has no idea what the fuck she's talking about. we say fuck it and walk out. how fucking lame is that?? if the MANAGER isn't sure, i guess she isn't doing her job. cos two salespeople knew what they were talking about. and i thank them for it.
if i go back in there again to buy anything, i know who to talk to.
it's gonna be fun doing their inventory in a week or so. hahaha. cos we are. and nick and i are scheduled for it. :D goodie.
all i wanted was something to read. for the price they were selling it for.
normally, i wouldn't raise hell about something like that, but goddammit, i'm cramping and they're supposed to know what the fuck their job is about.
