The Old Town is so cool because it's so old... and so town

Okay, after showing you out sea *gives Dae a threatening stare* and some of the local wildlife, I think it's time for some photos of the Old Town of Gdańsk. So here goes!

First off, the Golden Gate, which is the main entrance to the Old Town. Walking through it you'll find yourself on the Long Lane street. To the left of the gate there's the Mansion of the Society of Saint George with a statue of St. George on top of it.

At the end of the street stands the Old City Hall, which currently houses the Historical Museum of Gdańsk. Past the City Hall begins the Long Market.

The first thing you'll notice upon entering the Long Market is the Neptune's Fountain, one of the favourite spots of tourists - and pigeons. :D

Fun fact: that creature's tail fell off once, revealing Neptune's dick to the public. Frankly, I expected something more impressive from the mighty Poseidon. XD

Right behind the fountain there's the Artus Court. As you can see there was a small orchestra playing at the time, but I have no idea what was the occasion.

And of course there are residential buildings, but from what I hear they aren't the best place to live - the rents are high and there are pigeons and tourists everywhere! XD

And finally, farther down the Long Market there's the Green Gate which leads to another part of the Old Town which I'll save for another time!

Gdańsk, photos, old town
