Prayer request
Please keep my Dad in prayer. He was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) last year, and has had several treatments to help put his heart back into normal rhythm. He has been on a few different medications, and had his heart shocked (electrical cardioversion) twice (the second time worked with his heart beating normally).
Today he had heart surgery (ablation) to remove the diseased tissue in his heart that was causing the atrial fibrillation. If successful, he will be able to gradually come off of the medications. The surgery began at 7:30 am and lasted for about 6-7 hours. I called Sharon at 5:30pm, and at that point he had just been moved out of recovery and into his room. She was in the waiting room while the medical staff was getting him situated. Depending on how well he recovers, Dad could be released anywhere from 2-5 days from now.
