Je m'ennuie.

I am sleepy and depress-y and I need something to do that doesn't involve napping. Then I remembered that I never posted most of my Montreal pictures from last May. I have hundreds of them, so I'll just select some at random.

Never been to Montreal?

Alex and I spent most of the time near the artsy Plateau areas, mostly because of the shopping, the scenery, and the... uh, well, English. I could sort of read enough French to figure out where we were at any given time (Montreal, Quebec, Canada, North America, Earth), but venturing into Francophone neighborhoods made me feel both cultured and stupid, which is an odd combination. Luckily, everyone was quite nice about my timid "bonjour, hi"s, which roughly translates to "I am acknowledging that English is probably not your first language, and I wish I were fluent in French, but I will bet you a hundred dollars that you will understand my English better than my pathetic attempt to converse in French so please forgive me ok thank you."

Anyway! On to the pictures.

The border.

Hopscotch.

this made me laugh.

yay poutine

Alex and I like Montreal so much that we've actually considered living there. Obviously, this would take a ton of work on approximately seven different levels, but it's the only place besides New York that gives me, you know, that feeling.
The "oh, I get it now" feeling.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I believe the winters there were created by Satan himself.
