Bookplates and author signings

Okay, I have a question. I've signed two or three books locally now (because no matter how well you know someone, you always want them to sign a book if they manage to come out with one), and each time it's taken me like a solid half hour to think of anything to say. I was really young (gr 6) and met Richard Scrimger. He wrote in my book a compliment to my parents and scribbled an imitation of the music logo on my shirt. As well, when Farley Mowat was signing my book, he wrote (I believe it was) "Want a body-graph?" or something along those lines. There was another author who wrote in his book Top 100 Metal Songs of All Time "Raise the fist of the metal child!"
And that's about it.

Farley Mowat has been one of my favorite authors since childhood. Congratulations on getting to meet him!
