bank holiday (yay! i still love bank holidays)
Yep is was bank holiday and it was rather busy and seemed nice and long.
Parents came up to take half my stuff home as I move into Tim's new place on friday (squee!). They stayed up for a night so we could pack in many exciting holiday like things... Liiike... visiting a big country house art gallery with an astromonically themed exhibition. Not only lots of cool big spacy/sci-fi/planety modern pics that I like, and more older drawings but also copies of Gallileo's The Starry Messenger, Copernicus' De Revoluntionibus and Johannes Bayer's Uranometria. (Well I, the ex-Historian and philosopher of scientist, thought it was cool). Also went out for dinner in warwick and wandered around leamington in a touristy way, fun fun fun - with just me and my parents (lil bro went to his first Reading *fumes with jealousy*).
Sunday was also fun - tho in a less good way cos a friend who was supposed to be coming over from leicester for lunch went into hospital (with gall stones). So instead I and Anne went up to see her in hospital (my lovely friend claire has come up from home too so she was also there). She was pretty fed up with the whole hospital thing but I think we really cheered her up. It cheered me up seeing her again anyway - she has a way of making hospital anecdotes pretty hilarious.
So then it was monday - AND I DIDNT GO TO WORK!!! Instead I had a lazy morning and took my new swedish work volunteer friend (who is incidentally very tall, slim and blonde) out for lunch and shopping in Leamington. I had much fun and i think she did too (sigh I finally meet people who I get on well with and I have to leave work, oh well - hopefully she's come and work in london when she's done with her volunteering). Then we went over to newly engaged anne's for dinner and to pub quiz. (Swedish girl's first pub quiz - I'd be excited if I were swedish).
And now it is tuesday and i did have to go to work *BIG SCOWL*. Was ok - really looking forward to tim getting back on thursday. Oof at the regular lj updating this week.
