The final part of my entry for International Blog Against Racism Week (with a big pinch of Better Late Than Never)! My apologies for the lateness, life happened. :)

Hi! I found your entries through this year's IBARW, and I really enjoyed reading about your experience as a young multiracial person. I recognize a lot of my thoughts/experiences here, especially growing up in a very white environment, sometimes identifying as white, and trying to figure out where I really fall on the spectrum. Also, how hard it is to come to terms with one's own prejudices.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow, thank you! Having just read your entries, it does sound like we've experienced a lot of the same things. I have to say, I envy you having a group specifically for mixed race people; I'm currently toying with the idea of joining the Indian Society at university next year, but I'm not sure how comfortably I'll fit in. It would be great to feel like I could embrace mixed-race as an identity in itself and discuss all the issues and views that go with that.

Mind if I friend you? It looks like we have some interests in common too!

Yeah, it really was great to have a club like that, even though I didn't participate as much as I would have liked. I would encourage you to talk with other students about starting your own such group if there isn't one at your school, because chances are if you're wishing you had one, so are other people! Of course, I'd encourage you to join the Indian Society as well, but I completely understand your anxiety. That's why it really is nice to have a place where you can talk specifically about being mixed without fear of judgment or feeling too different.

Friend away! I always like meeting new people.:)
