My favorite memory would have to be any of the ones of the naïve Wesley Wyndham Pryce. I’ve read the files on Angelus and his glory days. It’s amusing to find even with a soul he brings out the worst in people.
These memories are the only ones that have feeling and color. There's always a bittersweet tangle of emotions in looking back.
He came to me bitter and broken. He left guilt ridden and still broken. I wasn’t his absolution and never anything close to a cure.
It was always one step forward and four steps back with Wesley and I could never tell where I stood with him. He liked pretend I didn’t stand anywhere but I was the one who fed his darkness. Long nights of rough passion between the sheets spoke of needs the poor Watcher could never have whispered to his southern bell.
I wasn't the one he wanted but he was the one I needed.
