 I should have realized today was going to be bad from the get go.
I walk into work, and as I'm checking my schedule for the rest of the week before clocking in [I still had a minute before 7am], the manager on shift comes up to me and asks "Can you clean the machine for me? I don't think I doing it right." And she was correct. She wasn't doing it

Me saying that my friends' "boyfriends are coming" was somehow a negative comment?

It's not like I opened up the conversation with "hey I'm having a party and like omg all the boyfriends are coming!!11" It was a response to a question you posed about whether it would be a friends or family party. I'm not the one at fault here. I responded to a question with a completely neutral and innocent comment. I really don't think that I should be blamed for something I said when it was anything BUT inflammatory.

Like I say before, they're my friends who just happen to be significant others of other friends. I don't think it's necessary to give them a convoluted or mitigated name.

From the point of view of a single person, it's not like I said "you can't come to my party because you don't have a date." Like I said before, I'm not that shallow.

I was asking you to come to a get-together in celebration of my birthday. Whether there are single people or couples there should not matter. That's NOT the reason I wanted to get people together in the first place.

Having a crummy day doesn't mean you should let innocent comments snowball into something completely and totally out of proportion. You're too good of a person for that.

I take a little bit of offense to how you responded to my comments. I'm NOT a bad person that intentionally made those comments to hurt you.

By the way, I don't know if the text you sent me earlier this evening came before or after the message you posted here. But this needs to be said, so I'll leave it at that.
